Life Changing.

Becker is a cool dude. He was the "guru" who gave me the action plan that I ultimately used to escape my day job. Three years ago I was in a call center answering 100 phone calls a day. Today, I make well over 6 figures and only have to work about 8 hours a week.

So I can personally say that he is the "real deal"

Excellent reference

This book is just what anyone that wants to get started with Android NDK needs. Not only does it start out well with giving step-by-step instructions on installing everything needed for both windows and Ubunto, but it also has a ton of examples throughout the book. The author is very straight forward in saying that this book is not about JAVA but C/C++, but anyone that wants to do Android NDK already should know that is what the language is that they need for NDK work.

The only down side I have for this book is chapter 8 which is surprisingly short considering the topic of graphics. I would liked a little more on this being that games are graphics intensive and writing for the NDK will help speed the processes up a little.

If you are looking for a primer in Android NDK than this is the book to get.

This book is worth reading, it's more heavy weight on programming than most other Android books I sampled recently, the only downside is it that covers Mac OS, Windows and Linux which contributed to the overall thickness and price.

Chapters I enjoy most:

Chapter 4. Calling Java Back from Native Code
Chapter 9. Porting Existing Libraries to Android

Great introduction to using the Android NDK for Android Developers!

This is a great book to get started with the Android NDK. It's definitely aimed at someone who has some experience developing on Android already, and has had some programming experience in C++. I hadn't used the NDK previously, so appreciated the chapters on setting it up for Linux, Mac and Windows.
I liked that it provides information for interfacing OpenGL from C++, and integrating both Box2d, and the Irrlicht open source 3d game engine.

This book would be very helpful for anyone trying to either integrate an existing C++ library to use on Android, or for game developers, trying to push better performance from Android devices.

About the Author
Benjamin Ginsberg is the David Bernstein Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Center for Advanced Governmental Studies at the Johns Hopkins University. He is the author or coauthor of 25 books, including Presidential Power: Unchecked and Unbalanced; Downsizing Democracy: How America Sidelined Its Citizens and Privatized Its Public; Politics by Other Means; The Consequences of Consent; The Worth of War; and The Captive Public. Ginsberg received his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1973. Before joining the Hopkins faculty in 1992, Ginsberg was Professor of Government at Cornell. His most recent books are The Fall of the Faculty: The Rise of the All-Administrative University and Why It Matters; What the Government Thinks of the People; and Analytics, Policy and Governance.

Theodore J. Lowi has been John L. Senior Professor of American Institutions at Cornell University since 1972. He was elected President of the American Political Science Association in 1990 and was cited as the political scientist who made the most significant contribution to the field during the decade of the 1970s. Among his numerous books are The End of Liberalism and The Pursuit of Justice, on which he collaborated with Robert F. Kennedy.

Caroline Tolbert is Professor of Political Science at the University of Iowa, where she regularly teaches the introductory American government course and was awarded the Collegiate Scholar Award for excellence in teaching and research. Margaret Weir is Professor of Sociology and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. She has written widely on social policy in Europe and the United States. She is the author of Politics and Jobs: The Boundaries of Employment Policy in the United States and coauthor (with Ira Katznelson) of Schooling for All: Class, Race, and the Decline of the Democratic Ideal. A well written and easy to understand book which clearly defines each type of mushroom with illustrations and photographs (in the appendix). It shows how to identify and distinguish between poisonous and hallucinogenic mushrooms (a vital skill). It also gives details on habitat. A useful reference guide. The only extra bit of advice I would give those thinking of ingesting hallucinogenic mushrooms is to always keep a sample in case something goes wrong so they can easily be identified. If in doubt don't pick. This book will certainly help reduces the confusion between similar looking psychotropic and poisonous mushrooms.

Easily identifies the genus of the mushroom to help identification in further examination. A great, pocket size manual to show which mushrooms are worth picking and which are better left alone. Used with another guide that features expanded species and photographs this book is a neccesity for hunting.

Sexy times

So, it's back to Hunter and Livy. I love these two. I like most of the secondary characters as well. And I have always had great love for an office romance, even if this one didn't start out in any sort of conventional way.

Hunter Carlisle has issues. We didn't really get into them in Yes, Please. In this chapter of Hunter and Livy's story, we get some insight into what the deal is with him. We've seen throughout the story so far, Livy trying to get in there. Being patient, while also not taking most of his guff. I love Livy. She's a strong character. Life has kind of beat her down a bit, but she never gives up. Hunter, he's kind of contradictory...for lack of a better word. Sometimes he's all business, take control. He's a big shot, running a large company, so you know he has to be smart and savvy. Then, when it comes to certain things in his life, I feel like he's allowing himself to be pushed around. For what? I'm not sure I completely understand yet. I'm sure it's coming, I just have to be patient. FYI, there is a bit more sexy times in Now, Please than there was in Yes, Please. There was one instance in this part of the story, where I felt that Livy should have made something a little less easy for Hunter, but you'll have to read it yourself and find out what I mean.

I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm hoping Hunter can finally be rid of the bad things he still allows to have part in his life. Maybe Livy can teach him a little something about that.

An Awesome Read!

I loved reading Now, Please (Please Series Book 2), all about Hunter Carlisle the gorgeous CEO & Olivia the twenty-two year old girl who now works for me & only signed one contract. Hunter took one look at Olivia and he knew he just had to have her, however she signed his employment contract but refused his personal contract and said no I don't want to work for you. Needless to say Hunter was stunned, so he changed the rule and said Olivia could work for him for one month and then they would revisit the two contracts after the month was up. The author wrote an incredible story, and the characters absolutely made the story come to life! In book one Olivia gets a one month shot at this admin position. In book two she's still working for Hunter and still only signed the employee contract, and they are flying by the seat of their pants over the personal issue! Read this series it will make you laugh, sigh, shake your head and cum up a storm! Read about Hunter & Olivia and fall in love with the both of them. Olivia is a normal run of the mill girl who loves her jeans & hoodies, and since meeting Hunter she has had to change her entire wardrobe! Follow these two and check out their adventures! I can't wait for book three!

I loved Yes, Please but Now, Please blew me away! There were so many unexpected twists and turns. I love the portrayal of the main character Livvy, and the way that she stuck to her roots in situations that she may have very easily changed just to fit in. I read this book in one day, because I couldn’t put it down. After reading the teaser for the third book, I think this series will be a huge hit for Summers!

Composed by a raft of successful fishermen and authors, this book is packed with information about Crappies, their ecology, and their pursuit. Especially valuable (in my opinion) is the coverage of calendar periods and how the Crappies respond to the seasonal rhythms. Another really, really helpful feature is the generous use of good diagrams to illustrate angling situations and concepts. Anglers from humble cane-polers to the most avid Calico fanatics will enjoy and learn from this excellent treatise.
